"You have died and find yourself kindly embraced by the Universe. Before returning to the stars, you are given another chance to reflect on your beloved life. During this time, reminisce about the way you've spent your time, embracing both joys and challenges."
That Happened? Is a spatial augmented reality installation that invites everyone to gently cuddle with the Universe and watch clips of their recent existence. It aims to remind us that, regardless of the circumstances of our corporeal life, we are peacefully united and returned to stardust. This installation encourages us to envision the kindness the universe possesses beyond human understanding.
Concurrent explosions and undulations reminiscent of mycelium networks and the nebulae found within the visible confines of out galaxy. Emanate within the soft skin of the Universe waiting for us to caress and become one with.
Ongoing anxieties shared by many have led to a need for a better path. I want people to let go of the ego that is driving our planet into oblivion—the greed that has caused a Climate Emergency, Loss of Habitats for many species due to Industrial Expansion, Racial issues that deny each other a sense of kinship, and the exploitative domination of the global north.
Within this installation, we witness our recent existence as a red-eyed tree frog, emphasizing the vulnerability of a species deeply affected by human actions. I aim to demonstrate that the universe values all life, urging us to shift the focus away from humans' false sense of superiority over other living beings. In the vastness of the universe, it is unjust for a single species to thrive at the expense of harming all other beings who share our small blue marble in the cosmos.
